What is it like to dwell grounded in unalienable, embodied Self-sovereignty AND
in loving community with all your wild, freaky, tender, seemingly contradictory Parts?
in loving community with all your wild, freaky, tender, seemingly contradictory Parts?
Description
The Big Bang: A SoulCollage® Partswork Community
offers a deep dive romp into integrated wholeness
AND
inner diversity
Process
We'll draw from three complementary frames of insight:
SoulCollage®
Internal Family Systems
Somatic Experiencing
...turning towards Self and Parts with appreciation, curiosity, wonder, and embodied wisdom.
Each session will offer specific guiding questions and processes for entering the landscape of partswork and
emergent/recurring situations in participants' lives.
Practice
We will offer ourselves and one another kind witness as we navigate accountability, curiosity, hope, hopelessness, fear, surprise, disappointment, joy, frustration, and probably 100,000 other states. The Big Bang is also likely to feel a bit relentless at times, challenging long-held patterns of hiding, escaping, evading, comparing, wishing, and giving up.
Support
Participants may schedule a 15-20 minute phone consultation with the facilitator, if desired.
To keep fueling the process of The Big Bang between community sessions, participants will be encouraged to engage in
daily check-in rituals through dream-work, writing, movement, visual journaling, photography, etc.
Details & Logistics
Schedule:
The Big Bang will convene every other week, for eight Monday evenings, from 6-7:30PM, Eastern time, via Zoom
January 16th
January 30th
February 13th
February 27th
March 13th
March 27th
April 10th
April 24th
Prerequisites & Caveats:
The Big Bang is NOT a therapy group. Before signing up, participants are invited to assess their readiness for sometimes challenging self-honesty and life-inventory. If you're having a really hard time in your life right now (and so many of us are) this may be a group that you want to join with a friend who you can debrief with. If you're in therapy now, you may plan to share some of what The Big Bang brings up for you with your therapist. Or you may want to watch Queer Eye Brazil, hug your dog, and wait for the storm to pass. All shall be well.
If you have questions about signing up. please feel free to contact the facilitator.
By January 16th, participants will need to have their own SoulCollage® decks with a minimum of 12 cards, a working understanding of the SoulCollage® process, and some familiarity with the Suits of a SoulCollage® deck. You can easily access a free intro course and/or intro workshops from other credentialed SoulCollage® facilitators via the World of SoulCollage® website.
Once The Big Bang is constellated, new members will not join. Participants should plan to join in all sessions.

Materials:
- Card stock/mat board/cereal boxes/other packaging, cut to a consistent size. 5x8" is a standard SoulCollage® size. You can also choose another size that feels good in your hands and gives you room to collage elements together. You'll need about 10 pieces, maybe more, maybe less.
- Glue stick
- Scissors with a good tip
- Old magazines and books for collaging
- You may want to look through the photographs on your phone / computer, and either print them yourself or have them printed in SoulCollage®-friendly 5x7" format.
- You may be drawn to create cards that incorporate stitching, textiles, painting, drawing, and other colored materials. All of this is most welcome. Let your intuition guide you.
- You may need additional materials for your individual daily ritual
- A notebook, loose paper, and a pen
- If you like, you can buy clear plastic sleeves for your cards. This makes them easier to shuffle and protects them. The SoulCollage® website offers these and other prepackaged supplies for making cards.
- If you like, you can prepare backing papers for your cards, to unify them as a deck and/or to identify your Suits. For supply purposes this means you might like to have some decorative / wrapping papers cut to the same size as your cards.

You'll need access to a device with a webcam and fast internet to participate.

- ...or anything in between.

Facilitator
Julie Püttgen, LCMHC, REAT, SEP, MFA, SoulCollage® Facilitator (she/her/hers)
I'm thrilled to be offering The Big Bang, a new love-child mashup of several of my favorite ways of knowing Self, World, and Other. There's ritual!
There's embodiment! There's image-making! There's chosen community! There's acknowledgement of inner and outer diversity.
Mmmm! What a banquet! Come join us.
I show up in the world as an artist, creative non-fiction writer, mover, somatic and expressive arts psychotherapist, and dharma teacher.
A committed meditator since 1995 and former Buddhist nun, I have been making, exploring, and teaching at the intersections of art (creativity) and dharma (ethics, wisdom, and applied insight) for many years in academic, retreat, arts, religious, and community contexts. I am co-director of the Center for Integrative Health, a multidisciplinary group private practice in Hanover, NH.
